In this Web Hosting Review, we take a look at hosting company 1&1 Internet Inc. We will be looking at their different packages, and discussing the pros and cons of the company.

Founded in 1988, 1&1 Internet Inc. is a German web hosting company that offer host services and domain registration to roughly 12 million users worldwide, including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and France.

1&1 offers hosting for Linux, windows, and Microsoft Sharepoint, available in the following packages:

Number of MySQL Databases: 10, 25, and Unlimited
    Price Range: $4.99, $6.99, and $9.99

    Windows Packages:

    Storage: 50GB and Unlimited

    Package Pros:

Packages include 3-6 Months free. Mid-level and premium packages include free domain choice. Also have a decent line-up of site-building and "one-click" installs, such as Wordpress, Drupal, and Joomla.

In addition to hosting services, the company also offers eCommerce sites, domain registration, mail hosting, and server solutions, including dedicated, virtial, and dynamic cloud servers.

    Overall Rating

Support: Customer support at 1&1 is pretty solid. Their phone team is top notch and friendly and - most importantly, available 24/7. They also offer e-mail support as well, with a pretty quick response time the few times I tried it. Would like access to support by Chat - something they do not offer at the time of this review, but they do have a feature called Netviewer that lets a member of their support staff connect to you directly. I'll admit I have not used this feature yet, but it sounds pretty nifty.

Pretty standard C-panel style interface with no real learning curve. One click install on apps is always a good thing for newer users. Overall a pretty intuitive design.

Prices were more than fair for the offerings. With the mid-level and premium package you get a free domain, which sweetens the pot a little (in reality, you only save a max of $12 because of this, but every bit counts).

I enjoyed the interface and useability of the hosting service. I never really had an issue with anything, but when I tested the support services, I was pleased with the results. During the testing period I experienced no downtime or page lag.

Overall I would recommend this company. Considering the 3-6 months free hosting you get tossed in and the money-back guarantee the company offers, you really can't go wrong.
