Macromedia Flash in Mobiles and Devices - Flash Player for Pocket PC

Macromedia Flash Player 6 for Pocket PC 2003 enables developers and publishers to quickly and easily deploy Macromedia Flash MX content and Rich Internet Applications for Pocket PC 2003 devices. Developers can deploy standalone Macromedia Flash applications using the Macromedia Flash Player 6 for Pocket PC.

Macromedia Flash Player 6 for Pocket PC 2003 is part of the Macromedia Mobile and Devices initiative to make PDAs, phones, televisions, and other consumer electronics accessible to Macromedia Flash developers and publishers.

The Macromedia Flash Player 6 for Pocket PC 2003 Developer Kit gives you everything you need to start creating Macromedia Flash content and applications for Pocket PC devices. The developer kit includes:

The Macromedia Flash MX Content Development Kit for Pocket PC covers tips, techniques, and sample code for developing Flash content for the Pocket PC platform using the Macromedia Flash Player 6 for Pocket PC 2003. There are many new features available with the Macromedia Flash Player 6 for the Pocket PC as well as a Standalone Player for making projector files (EXE) for the PPC.

The Macromedia Flash MX Interface Development Kit for Pocket PC covers tips, techniques, and sample code for developing user interfaces for the Pocket PC platform. Because of the small screen size and the various input and connectivity options for Pocket PC (PPC) devices, designing an effective user interface lets users access your content easily. This document and included examples can help you understand how to create useable interfaces.

Components are pre-built movie clips which simplify handling common tasks or user interface (UI) elements. Because of the small screen size and slower processors for the Pocket PC, the following five Flash UI components have been optimized for it: CheckBox, ComboBox, ListBox, RadioButton, and ScrollBar. You can use these components separately to add simple user interaction to Flash movies, or together to create a complete user interface for Web forms or applications.

You can download Content Development Kit for Pocket PC from the following link: http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=pocketpccdk

    Flash Player SDK

The Macromedia Flash Player 6 Source Code SDK makes it easy for consumer electronics manufacturers and device platform providers to port Macromedia Flash Player to next-generation devices and platforms.

The Macromedia Flash Player 6 Source Code SDK includes:

    • Macromedia Flash Player 6 source code to accelerate portability.

    • Reference implementations for Windows 32 ActiveX, Windows CE .NET (4.1) ActiveX, Windows CE 3.0 for Pocket PC 2002 ActiveX and standalone, Linux Mozilla plugin and Linux standalone.

    • Documentation

    • Acceptance Test Suite

    • Technical support

If you are interested in licensing Flash Player SDK you can send a request to Macromedia from the following link:
