Should You Buy Domains Solely For Their PR? - Benefits

The benefits of buying a high Page Rank website should be fairly obvious. If a website has high Page Rank, then it should have a good deal of traffic from inbound links from other websites, as well as a lot of traffic from search engines. Although Page Rank primarily refers to the Google system (because of Google’s original development and their release of the Google Toolbar, which publicly displays Page Rank for all web pages), it is relevant to all major search engines, such as MSN, Yahoo, and others.

Although website developers will generally make a profit on selling a high Page Rank website, even after all of their invested time is figured in, it still makes financial sense for a website owner to deal with this profit margin instead of attempting to develop Page Rank themselves. The field of search engine optimization is extensive, and requires a good deal of experience and knowledge. Anyone looking to enter the field with no prior training will have quite a bit of difficulty getting any kind of website up to Page Rank 5.

The reason that the traffic that a high Page Rank signifies is good is because traffic is what drives all revenue generation on the Internet. No matter what you are trying to do with your website, you need visitors in order to generate revenue. If your website relies on ad revenue, then you need people to come to your website so that your website sponsors will have a reason to purchase the ads. If you are selling something on your website, then you need people to come to the pages so that they can see the products that you are selling and purchase them.

Overall, purchasing a high Page Rank website is a sound theory because it delegates the responsibility to the professionals (known as specialization in economics) and allows the website owners to do what they are best at: run a website. Although a large up-front investment is required for purchasing such websites, good management and know-how will generally end up in a purchaser making a pretty good recurring profit from their new website.
