Top Software to Help Manage Your Websites

When you run a website, whether it be an active blog or a large static site, keeping on top of everything can be more than a little bit of a challenge. There are a lot of aspects to be managed if you want your site to be successful. Fortunately, there are plenty of tools out there to make your job a little easier.

Since the proper management of a website begins with its creation and you could be anywhere in the process, we will be starting with the tools to make a site. Then we will move onto a tool for promoting your site, and finally on to the tools for managing an established site.

To help you find the sections that you need, the tools will be broken up by these categories. Don't worry if you are a site manager and not a true webmaster. I will be including among the software some tools that are WYSIWYG or otherwise do not require you to know how to write any code.

Tools for making your own website

Websmartz 3.0 is a no-code-required website maker. It will allow you not only to make basic HTML websites, but also gives you the ability to add flash to your site. The interface is easy enough to use even if you are relatively new to making your own sites.

To be honest, even if you want to make your own HTML site, the tool may be worth your while if you are not experienced with flash development. This tool allows you to make some pretty advanced and detailed sites when you consider the fact that you are making a site without having to lift a finger to code.

There are about 60 flash introductions to choose from, and if you want to you can use it to make some web based presentations as well. Like all good things however it is not truly free you can try the software for free but in order to get your hands on the full version you will have to shell out just under 30 dollars.

If you don't want the flash, but you still want a no code browser, you can use site spinner 2.7c. It allows you to build your site in drag-and-drop style. It also gives you a handy form maker and built-in spell check for those of us who were never that good with double checking our site copy.

Of course, for those of you who are looking to do it yourself but want something a bit more serious than a basic text editor to do it in here is a list of options for your coding pleasure:

    HTML Editor 1.6.0.61

PageBreeze Free HTML Editor 4.0b - This tool allows you to toggle between HTML and WYSIWYG so that you can view your site easily.

CSE HTML Validator Lite 9.0 - This application allows you to validate both HTML and XHTML.

HyperMaker HTML 3001.24  - This is designed to help you make media rich sites easily.
