Popular Download Managers Reviewed - Orbit Downloader
(Page 4 of 6 )
Orbit Downloader is a renowned download manager that flaunts a lot of unique Web 2.0 features. They say it will revolutionize download managers. It is also freeware. In a few words let's sum it up: feature-laden, super light-weight, fast, and efficient.

So what are those unique Web 2.0 features? The ability to download video-/sound-/data- files from social networking websites, such as MySpace; video sharing websites, like YouTube; and other file hosting servers, such as RapidShare, etc.
This is possible thanks to two amazing features: the GetIt button and Grab++. The latter does a phenomenal job of sniffing out any kind of media that loads up in your browser, but you can customize it for other desired extensions. Thus, you'll have the list of sniffed-out files accompanied by their file size, and then it's up to you to select which one you want to download. The GetIt button pops up on video, music, and flash medias.

(Notice Orbit's GetIt button instantly appearing once the YouTube video starts)
Grab++ is an independent little tool that sniffs incoming packets required by your browser. Therefore, it can work with any kind of browser. The GetIt button may not pop up with your particular browser, but if you shoot Grab++ up and start sniffing, you'll be relieved because it works like a charm.

It supports all three of the features I deemed necessary, namely resuming, segmentation, and browser integration to catch the links. It works flawlessly with MS Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, and Avant Browser. Additionally, Maxthon also appears on the supported browsers list. It catches the download URLs right away; there's no need to copy them to Clipboard.
Summing it up, I'm handing out a total of 10 points. I couldn't find any flaws.
