Is Clickfire the Only Honest Web Host Review Site? - Reviewer Reliability

According to Clickfire, their entire review process -- from start to finish -- can take several months, and the results, which are written by reviewers, are very reliable. Clickfire usually reviews the lowest-priced hosting package, and at no time will one host be endorsed over another.

“Reviewers can say whatever they want and they totally control the ratings. I don’t try to get them to change their reviews. If there is a particularly egregious rating given, I do reserve the right to ask for reconsideration. I don’t change reviews based on requests from web hosting companies—believe me, I have been asked on more than one occasion,” Rowland said.

So, who are these reviewers that Clickfire users are supposed to have so much faith in? They are handpicked by Rowland himself. Once they have agreed to abide by very specificguidelines, Rowland then determines if they are independent, meaning they are not working for, and are not in affiliation with, the company being reviewed. Also, no one affiliated with Clickfire itself is allowed to write the reviews.

Reviewers must also be knowledgeable, meaning they have a good understanding of the inner workings of web hosting providers -- everything from the technology to the operation.

Experience is another necessary quality that a Clickfire reviewer must possess. Reviewers have to be skilled in the ways of web hosting, meaning hands-on-experience working with web site files.

Lastly, Clickfire also requires that their reviewers have excellent communications skills -- both verbally and in writing -- as well as be honest and critical.
