Budget Web Hosting is More Affordable Than Ever - Prices Decline Due to Slumping Economy
(Page 3 of 4 )
The sharp decline in web hosting prices wasn’t merely caused by the Internet itself; it is also a direct result of the slumping economy. It has been proven that the popularity and demand for data and IT services are caused by three things: aggressively growing economies, a stable political environment and a corresponding rise in connectivity. It is for these reasons that web hosting services can still be quite pricey and difficult to choose in the Asia Pacific, which is just beginning to completely understand and take advantage of the connectivity the Internet and web hosting services offer.
In America, where connectivity through technology and a stable political environment are old hat, the major driving force for the declining price of web hosting services is the economy. Unlike food, whose price has gone up astronomically to the dismay of many, web hosting companies must stay afloat in an unstable economy by lowering prices and doing whatever necessary to stay in business.
Farmers, grocery stores and other manufacturers of food items don’t have to lower their prices in a slumping economy because there will always be a great demand for food and consumers will be forced to pay whatever price is necessary for food items; a similar theory applies to rising gas prices. This, however, is not the case with web hosting companies.
There isn’t a single grocery store or gas station on the planet giving away their products for free, but there are countless websites online that offer free web hosting services to consumers. Web hosting companies have been forced to compete by upping the features they offer and dramatically reducing their prices in order to compete for consumers.
